What I Wore – Styling a Maxi Dress

This week I totally am stepping out of my comfort zone.
Sometimes I feel like when I get dressed I’m wearing a predictable outfit, where I feel comfortable and will blend in with the other moms running around in Target bribing their kids with slurpees, a treat, and maybe a $5 movie.
I think to myself, “Ok, my kids look cute so hopefully that will take the looks away from me.” With my day old hair thrown up in a pony and make up that is having a hard time covering up those circles under my tired eyes I run around trying to remember what is on my shopping list in the first place.
I’ve been comfortable in my little bubble, but lately I’ve seen some trends that I’ve wanted to try. It might sound silly, but these are huge for me.
#1 I usually only wear maxi dresses when I’m pregnant.
I don’t know why, I don’t have anything against wearing them, that’s just when I’ve bought them.
Thank you Kintage for having some darling dresses!
#2 I don’t wear headbands. Not wraps, not lace, not boho, nothing.
Thank you Love Sparkle Pretty for sending me this beautiful boho headband to be my first.
#3 I tried out a blazer for the first time also.
Thank you Lauren Conrad for rockin’ my socks off every time I shop at Kohls. Love her line of clothes {I think I own most of it because I’m predictable like that} & newly released bedding.

For a more dressy look:
Boho Headband & Pearl Bracelet-Love Sparkle Pretty
Gold Bunting Necklace-Lisa Leonard
Gold flats-Shop Ruche
Purse-My husband’s papa gave it to him to give to me. It was his wife’s who passed away before I was ever in the picture. I try not to open it much because it still has her sweet grandma perfume smell.
Love stuff like that.
Love these flats.
Kayla is the super sweet girl behind Love Sparkle Pretty.
She came to Elevate and was lovely to meet in person.
Obsessed with my first piece of Lisa Leonard jewelry that was my birthday present from Nichole.
It matches perfectly!
 For a more casual look:
Denim Shirt-LC Lauren Conrad at Kohls
Shoes-Old Navy forever ago
Laura from Bits of Splendor is so darling and genuine. Read about her Project Hope if you have a sec.
I knew her necklace would go perfect with this outfit and I was so lucky to snag one of the last ones!
Do you have a trend that you would love to try, but are too nervous?
Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

I don’t do headbands either. I want to, at least some of them, but the darn things never stay on my head right.

So cute! I can’t believe it but I don’t even own a maxi dress. Yours is super cute! I need to find one, stat. I had to laugh at your Target description of moms who bribe their kids with slurpees, a treat, and maybe a $5 movie. That’s me! Ha! Stopping by from The Pleated Poppy.
