We decided to have a gender reveal party with this baby!
We haven’t had one before and since my sickness had been going on for so long, any excuse to get together with people was fine with me.
Thank you to Summer Nicole Photography for capturing this afternoon so well for us.
Find her on Instagram & if you are in Southern California or Utah, she is a gem to use!
My cute hubs was turning 35 the week of my appointment so I called my beautiful friend & owner of The Sweet Tooth Fairy, to see if she could help combine birthday party & gender reveal party.
Our dessert table was filled to the brim with the best of the best treats. Cake, cupcakes, cookies & cake bites.
My Mind’s Eye Penant Banner
I love all of My Mind’s Eye party decor!
I wanted simple pink & blue for everything because I really wasn’t leaning toward boy or girl.
I found these plates & napkins & thought they were absolutely perfect!
We had red velvet, funfetti, salted caramel, & fudge cake bites. These are trouble because they are so little and easy to keep popping.
A little tip about hosting large parties (this is my favorite tip, I always give it) is to grab your favorite sprinkles & take them to your nearest donut shop to sprinkle for you. Every time I have done this, they have done it for me. This time I just asked them to sprinkle whatever pink & blue they had on hand because I didn’t have time to drop stuff off.
Grab a bunch of your favorite gumballs & you’ve got another filler treat.
The reason these are my go to filler treats is because we usually have a good amount of kids at our parties and we invite a lot of people that don’t love to RSVP. I don’t blame them, it’s not one of my strengths either! I know donuts and gum are easy enough for kids to grab and small enough that they will have a few.
Love these mason jar dispensers I have!
Raspberry lemonade in the clear one & water in the blue one.
The Sweet Tooth Fairy nailed it with combining the gender reveal party & birthday party!
The birthday boy guessed girl & no, we did not plan on matching in neutral gray for this occasion.
The big sister guessed girl.
Each family that was there took a guess and it was pretty close.
I guessed girl, big brother guessed boy, and big sister guessed girl.
At our appointment, we all managed to look away. The nurse wouldn’t text Megan, so I went over to my sweet neighbor’s house with an envelope and she threw me all over the place. She used a magnifying glass, and said, “What are you going to name him? Will your son be ok if it’s a girl? Are you sure there aren’t 2?”
I can’t believe this cake stand is only $15!
The birthday boy & I really feeling the pressure from our big boy & his friends as we lit the candles for Happy Birthday!
And as we finished and cut the cake, I thought I saw light blue. I wasn’t sure, but as the piece was pulled out it was blue for sure!
We are so happy to be having a BOY!
It was pretty emotional & heart warming watching my son as he jumped & gave numerous high fives.
While we prepped our kids for a brother or a sister & would have been over the moon with either, we are so excited to be giving this boy a brother.
Don’t mind that our eyes are a little teary and red, we both are big babies.
With each of our other kids, we have found out at 20 weeks. Here we found out at 16, so I made sure at our 20 week it was still a boy. 🙂
Now to start shopping!
So darling. You can tell by the look on Joe’s face that is thrilled from head to toe. Congratulations!
