The Best Carmelitas Recipe featured by Utah lifestyle blog, By Jen Rose

Have you ever had carmelitas before? Picture the perfect combination of chocolate, caramel, oats, and toffee bits in a soft, gooey bar… This carmelitas recipe is pretty much a heavenly dessert and a definite crowd pleaser. This carmelitas recipe is one of my favorites, if not my favorite, go-to recipe. It’s so easy and it’s so good I never have any leftovers. I begged my…

4th of July Meltaway Cookies

I love meltaway cookies! Not just because they are so yummy, but because they are perfect to have at parties. They are small, easy to grab finger foods. The kids can grab these ones, pop them in their mouths and run away without making a huge mess. The only downfall is that because they are so small, you can easily eat more than you were…

Girls Lunch Date with Green Chef

I received compensation for writing this post for Green Chef. Although this post was sponsored, all opinions are mine. At the end of the post, learn how to get 6 meals for free! Don’t judge, I’m sure what I’m about to tell you happens to the best of us! I’m lucky to eat lunch 4 times a week, and usually 2 of those times I’m…

Top 10 Grilled Cheese Recipes

Did you know that National Grilled Cheese Day is coming up? April is National Grilled Cheese month, and National Grilled Cheese Day falls on April 12th this year. We love grilled cheese sandwiches at our house, the kids beg for them and they are so quick. I plan to take full advantage of this holiday, but wanted a few grownup options. 1. Pesto, Artichoke &…

Delicious Copycat Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls

I love the Saturday mornings that we can wake up, have a lazy start, and make homemade Cinnamon Rolls. Especially when I use this recipe and my kids can 100% help out in the kitchen. They love it and I love it. This recipe is similar to Cinnabon’s Cinnamon Rolls & who doesn’t love Cinnabon?! I couldn’t resist posting this perfect bedhead. She seriously wakes…

Instagram post 17894444528530396 #ad Our 3 older kids are in the middle of tennis season & loving it! Their main request? Bring Nature Valleyā„¢ bars when I'm the mom in charge of snacks. It feels like a lot of our afternoons are spent by a court or on a field, running from school to practice, or to a game. I always have these on hand. Did you know that 1 in every 8 people face hunger, including nearly 12 million children? I hate to admit I had no idea the number was this staggering & heartbreaking. It touches every community and for the next couple of weeks, I will be stocking up on some of our family favorites on my trips to @walmart , where General Mills is donatingĀ to @feedingamerica . It is simple and small, but can make a difference.
For every participating General Mills product purchased at Walmart between 4/18/22 and 5/15/22, General Mills will donate $0.10 to Feeding AmericaĀ® - enough to help Feeding America secure 1 meal on behalf of its member food banks – up to a maximum total donation of $1,500,000 in conjunction with this program. See Walmart.com/FightHunger for more information. #fighthungersparkchange #fighthunger @nature_valley

Instagram post 17943826984931814 "Each of us will have our own Fridays—those days when the universe itself seems shattered and the shards of our world lie littered about us in pieces. We all will experience those broken times when it seems we can never be put together again. We will all have our Fridays. But I testify to you in the name of the One who conquered death—Sunday will come. In the darkness of our sorrow, Sunday will come. No matter our desperation, no matter our grief, Sunday will come. In this life or the next, Sunday will come."

Holding onto hope that our ā€œSundayā€ will come & I’ll get to squeeze his sweet face again.
Missing dad on our first Easter without him & holding onto the memories of the amazing Easter egg hunts at my parents house that he loved almost as much as he lived to celebrate his love for Christ.
Instagram post 17903600852517749 15 years ago, and some weeks (thanks to being sick), this boy came into the world and started me on my favorite adventure yet, motherhood. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing or how we were surviving, and can truthfully say the same is true 15 years later. You work hard, you play hard, and you really enjoy when your hard work pays off while dedicating yourself to try harder when you know there is room to do better. I feel like I’m raising my 15 year old dad from driving to tennis, golf, back to tennis & if there’s room, saving some time for skiing and basketball. Not only do I love you & believe in you times infinity, but I like you and can’t believe how cool of a person you are. I’m convinced everyday that you came the way you came & little of the person you are becoming has to do with our parenting. Thanks for reminding me when I have to sign up for tests, sports, for picking your battles wisely, and for saying thank you. Love you Joe Joe.

We enjoyed a beautiful Christmas Sunday & we sure missed my dad today. He loved the festivities & celebrating the birth of Christ. Joe sported a couple of his holiday favorites, can you spot them? 🄰 Hopefully the suit will fit him next year. Thankful to my family for helping ease the sting that I knew I’d feel a little stronger today. Hope your weekend was beautiful and relaxing.
Instagram post 17862806336638809 [Ad] The kids & I headed to @DollarGeneral to stock up on all of our favorite Hershey treats so we could deliver them to some of our new neighbors & introduce ourselves. We set up our assembly line with REESE’S Peanut Butter Holiday Lights, Hershey's Filled Cane, and more! I'm not gonna lie, the kids definitely snuck the ICE BREAKERS Mints for school. It was such a fun family activity! Grab your favorite Hershey candy at @DollarGeneral & from now through 12/25/21, Save $3 when you purchase $10 worth of any Hershey Holiday Candy items. Either grab treats for your neighbors or make a treat board for all of your entertaining needs this month! #DollarGeneral #DollarGeneralFinds #Hersheys
Instagram post 18178522990083553 Thankful for the people who make my world go round & grateful for the time I get to spend with them. Especially if it includes board games & puzzles. I’m learning that both of those are my favorite wintertime activities. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. ā¤ļø Pic by the talented @krissicookfilmsandphoto
Instagram post 17891534792398191 Throwing it back to one of my favorite boards that could be used for Halloween & Thanksgiving by using whatever white/cream treats you can find. I decorate with neutral pumpkins to save me time from having to decorate for 2 holidays. Such a fun board for snacking!šŸ

To the first man I loved. The one who held my world in his hands. I never pictured it hurting this bad, but I guess with big love comes big grief. I held your hands 5 weeks ago & told you how loved you are by each of your 9 kids, your 20 almost 21 grandkids, your 1 almost 3 great grandkids & your devoted wife. I watched you pass peacefully from this life to the next & felt immense relief for you & at the same time completely empty for the rest of us left here.
.
Your loss has rearranged my world. I had a friend ask how many more days, years and months would have been sufficient & the truth is it would never be enough so I’m going to soak in the love & the connection I had with my dad for 36 years. I’m going to look for the small miracles & notice the moments that I know you are there. While I selfishly wanted you around for years to come, I’m so glad you are not in pain anymore.
.
I had a feeling this summer would be different & I have not a single regret. Since I struggle to be consistent here anyways šŸ˜‰, stepping away has been so nice. Thank you for the sweet messages & texts. I have seen every one and we have felt so loved. I don’t know what this looks like moving forward, but I hope you’ll bare with me as I figure out how to transition to living with my dad as my angel in heaven instead of my rock on earth. I love you dad, every minute of everyday. ā¤ļø
