It’s her birthday. My baby sister, the relations It’s her birthday. My baby sister, the relationship I’m most protective and proud of. I’m one of a few who have had the pleasure of watching her life story unfold. The only one I would listen to talk about what the hell scobies are at midnight, the one I would trust to take care of all my health needs, she’s the one who knows me better than I know myself, & loves her people fiercely. From beehives to bat houses to saunas to drinks to chickens, sometimes I don’t even recognize our past selves that spent our time switching from laying out in the sun to laying out in a tanning bed, eating ice cream from the carton drizzling chocolate syrup on every bite & a stint with Saran Wrap diys that I won’t fully go into, for her sake. I feel like she’s the closest I can get to my dad & try to follow in her footsteps, with an occasional chocolate chip cookie. She should have been the oldest and has definitely been all of our favorites. Her calm, sweet disposition was the perfect addition to come after me. Watching her bloom into the most incredible mother, wife, sister, friend, teacher, nurse, homesteader, gardener has been something I treasure. I sure lucked out when you were born.
A thought on life & legacy. It is not the things w A thought on life & legacy. It is not the things we leave for people, but what we leave in them. It’s not where our names are engraved, but where we are woven throughout. It’s not about everything we knew & what we taught, but how we listened & humbled ourselves when we didn’t know. It’s not about doing it all as much as it is doing what we can & turning the rest over to Him. It’s about bettering ourselves & unbecoming & showing our flaws & saying sorry. It’s about fixing the issues before the bridge becomes a moat. It’s the simple, it’s the hard, it’s the heartbreaking & it’s the celebrating. It’s being brave & jumping before you’re ready. It’s my favorite thing & also the thing that makes me want to crawl back in bed at the first sign of defeat. Some days it’s overwhelming & some days are full of chocolate chip cookies, warm sourdough & fresh eggs. If people feel my love through food & hosting, I’ll call it a win. šŸ¤
Who knew the snow would still be here in March?! T Who knew the snow would still be here in March?! The kids still are excited to get lots of ski time, which has meant me grabbing dinner and running it up to them before calling it a night. We love @jerseymikes because we can all find something we love & customize it! Some of the favorites are the Philly Cheesesteak, Turkey & Provolone, Chicken Bacon & Ranch, & a Turkey & Provolone bowl. The month of March is Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving, where all are invited to order in-store or through the app for pick up or delivery from your local Jersey Mike’s & make a donation to the designated charity partner. I remember volunteering as a youth to work Special Olympics events and those days were incredible. It's so easy to round up your purchase and/or donate $1, $3, or $5 in the Jersey Mike’s app. #jerseymikes #jerseymikespartner
You will teach them to fly, but they will not fly You will teach them to fly, but they will not fly your flight. You will teach them to dream, but they will not dream your dream. You will teach them to live, but they will not live your life. Nevertheless, in every flight, in every life, in every dream, the print of the way you taught them will remain. – Mother Teresa

It’s ok to be kind and fierce. It’s ok to be feisty and soft. It’s ok to dream, fail and succeed over and over again. Protect your peace and don’t let anyone dim your light. To the girls this reaches, you got this, keep pushing & keep putting one foot in front of the other. And to my own 2 beauties, I am the luckiest and believe in you more than you can believe.

Felt like sticking with the classics this month. T Felt like sticking with the classics this month. The classic movies,
songs, and colors I grew up with. Love the nostalgia. The kids put together more of the tray than I did & we took a photo with a phone camera…at night. Not my typical & I love it for those reasons. Hope you have a Merry Christmas! ā¤ļøšŸŒ²
My chaos. My steady. My rollercoaster. My best adv My chaos. My steady. My rollercoaster. My best adventure. My hardest calling. My biggest accomplishment & where I fall short multiple times a day. My pull to be present & my push to be better. These 5. This little tornado of children that we’ve created who follow us around. It’s weird and also awesome that they are so similar to Steve & I. Except we hope that they can plan trips more than 2 weeks out because of the unnecessary stress that that adds to traveling with 6 šŸ˜‰

We swam under the stars and soaked up the sunshine. We adjusted and attempted to improve where we could. If I know love what love is & why life is full, it’s because of these ones right here. Hope you have a great long weekend! ā¤ļø
There couldn’t have been a more perfect audio fo There couldn’t have been a more perfect audio for today. Happy Birthday to my sweet sister. I couldn’t imagine life without you and while I’ve always needed my hand held, these last 9 months without our dad would have been impossible without her. This road of trying to figure out ā€œnow what?ā€ is much more bearable with her driving it with me. She’s the one who walks out to her garden and picks an entire dinner, knows all The Office lines, is my on call nurse, loves a good party and a classic chick flick. She doesn’t take herself too seriously and is the most patient mother. I enjoy that she is so well researched on anything and everything having to do with health, loves being a bee mom, having the style of a coastal grandma, and introducing her very crunchy ways of living to us. There isn’t an aspect of my life that she hasn’t touched or inspired me to be better at. I hope your trip in Florida has been the dreamiest and can’t wait to see if your homemade sunscreen actually worked šŸ’™šŸ„°
