Boys Bedroom Makeover

This boys bedroom makeover post is sponsored by Kohl’s. I was paid for this post and received the included home goods as compensation. The time has come that I have been dreading & at the same time looking forward to. Joe is almost 12 and for the past year his used-to-be favorite set of Batman sheets have been in our storage room collecting dust. Since…

White Entryway Table

White Entryway Table by Utah lifestyle blogger By Jen Rose

I’m so excited to welcome this new white entryway table into our home! This is our first home and we have lived here for almost 2 years. When we moved in we were doing project after project & it is taking me awhile to figure out my style. We stained the floors darker, painted, replaced carpet, added new trim—-pretty much gave the house a facelift.…

Have Courage & Be Kind Printable

Today I’m sharing a darling printable from Paperelli! Courtney is one of my all time favorite people to work with! I love everything she makes and she is awesome to work with. I took my kids to see the movie Cinderella and we all absolutely loved it. I saw the preview numerous times with this quote being said by her mother, but I had no…

Easter Bunny String Art

Easter Bunny String Art by popular Utah lifestyle blogger By Jen Rose

Someone needs to hide the string from me! I’ve made a deer silhouette in numerous colors, a lion for my nephew’s nursery, the U.S.A, and now an Easter bunny string art piece. The thing I love about string art is you can really make anything you want. Simple or intricate, it looks so cool! This Easter bunny string art was the hardest one I’ve done yet.…

$25 Dresser Makeover

I was looking through pictures, organizing them and stumbled upon this steal of a deal dresser that I never posted about! I found it on a local Facebook group for $25! That never happens in the area where I was looking. It is sturdy and I was shocked that I was first in line for it. Even though it was white and I love love…

Vintage Hutch Makeover

Awhile ago I bought this desk and vintage hutch from a family who was moving away. I planned on buying a whole set, but when I got there not all of the pieces were what they said they were online…Happen to anyone before?! The guy was really nice and I was thrilled to walk away with this piece—not the color though. The vintage hutch was black…

Instagram post 18193743976026818 1, 2, or 3 garlands? As I’m taking down our Valentine’s mantle, I’m wondering if you’d go more simple or if you go more extra when you decorate for holidays? 💗
Instagram post 18148849675137453 You are loved.
You are valued.
You are worthy.
You are unique.
You are capable.
.
Remember that. ❤️ Hope you have had a wonderful Valentine’s Day! xoxo

When I got my order from @freshfoodfurther, I was dying to make one more snack board. Her stuff is amazing!!!
Instagram post 17885828851989694 You know the weeks that shape & mold you the most? The ones with a jam packed schedule, meetings, practices, where you’re stretched much farther than you’re used to? This last week was that for us & I was playing so careful to leave minimal room for change (because anxiety), meaning little flexibility.
.
When a slight detour on the ski slopes left one of our kids disoriented, confused, & lost on the mountain in a snowstorm with no way to get a hold of us, a shove on the basketball court led to a sprained wrist & a trip to the dr, a dinner that led to our 14 year old having to perform the heimlich on one of his sisters, you really take a deep breath & step back.
.
You more fully celebrate the passing of a test, a report card of grades fought for, the chance you have to run a forgotten item up to school. You take the chance to talk about the what if’s, make a game plan, and learn.
.
You take the weekend off. You appreciate the good friends that helped ease the anxiety & checked in. You decide you’ll take ski lessons so you can find your child on the mountain....just kidding, I’m not going that far, they’d be sending out search and rescue to find me. 😂 You kick yourself for panicking so much & also wanting to give the health teacher a hug for just teaching the heimlich.

Motherhood is a million little moments that God weaves together with grace, redemption, laughter, tears and most of all love. ❤️

Instagram post 17858855144363124 Can you remember where you were 14 years ago?
.
It feels like a lifetime ago & also like it was yesterday. The fact that he is just my height makes me feel like we are closer to the part of I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, where soon he’ll be taking care of me 😉 Except I feel like that’s been the case this whole time. Thanks to this sweetheart boy for taking care of me. For being sensitive enough to check in daily to see what I need. For having the patience to let me grow as a mother & a person over these past 14 years. Everything I’ve learned so far can be traced back to him, and the 3 that follow him.
.
He is kind, funny, stubborn, confident, and smart. I wish I was as cool as he is. He is so good at whatever he puts his mind to. I love our time together whipping stuff up in the kitchen, our talks when everyone is in bed, & hope he knows how much he means to us and that we love him always. I pray that he always know we are a safe place. Joe, you are the best journey I’ve been on & I’m so proud to be your mom every single second of everyday, even the hard ones. 💙

Instagram post 18047229859280918 January 13th seems like a great day to share our Christmas morning picture 😁
.
When I found out my parents availability, we crammed as much as we could into the time we had with them. Dad might have wanted to punch me OR the Christmas lover inside of him soaked it all up, hard to tell. We made Christmas trains, gingerbread houses (thank you person who came up with premade!), sugar cookies (thank you @leeannmiller for the yummy recipe!), had fancy meals (thank you to my stud husband!), watched football, Dad made his famous eggnog (said he was sure it was his best one yet!), & watched Christmas Vacation.
.
We were a little disappointed it was our first year waking up without it being white, but then remembered my husband and I grew up without white Christmases and somehow we survived 😉.
.
If 2021 is anything like 2020, I’m feeling very happy that I opted for loungewear for our pajama tradition.
Instagram post 17868235481158949 Merry Christmas Eve friends! Sipping hot chocolate & snacking on this spread, Christmas movies on repeat, wrapping presents & dinner with family is how we will be spending the day. Thank heavens for Steve who will be making dinner and balancing out the treat consumption ❤️
.
We hope you have a beautiful & safe holiday with your loved ones 🌲😘
Instagram post 17900127667641229 It’s not what’s under the Christmas tree that matters, but who is around it. ❤️
.
An idea was given to try a tray with cupcakes & I upped it to @nothingbundtcakes because 😋🥰😋🥰
.
If you are local, my darling cousins own @nothingbundt_j_and_t in Lehi, UT so stop by and grab some treats for the holidays!
Instagram post 18062386639260050 Me: Why are you not looking at the camera?
Dad: I heard it’s cooler to look into the distance. 😂😍
I was trying to get him to smile for a picture, he was trying to get his friend’s attention across the street, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s 😢
.
We surrounded him like bubble wrap, masked up & headed to church so Mr. Christmas could enjoy the music & see people. I searched high and low & found my carefully stored St Andrews scarf that he brought me back from Scotland. Decided it was the perfect pop of red to wear today. ❤️ Love him, love our family, and love the spirit of the Christmas season. 🌲
