Yes they have been around a long time… and that is not the real issue here. When were the regulators authorized to give the credit rating agencies so much regulatory power… and when were the regulators authorized to impose a regulatory layer of discrimination of risk on top of the markets´ normal discrimination of risk? Those are the questions.
