Hey there!
With Memorial Day, 4th of July, and sweet summer just around the corner, I thought I’d share a simple recipe to dress up plain ol’ cold cuts!
We have family over a bunch
and it is a mighty big family that we belong to
so these are perfect!
{plus it doesn’t take me away from the pool for too long!}
Here’s the easy steps:
(makes 2-9×13 pans)
-any sandwich rolls (roll snob here-French’s rolls work really well)
-mayo
-about 2 lbs turkey
-1 lb roast beef
-1/2 lb provolone cheese
For this part, you are just cutting the bread, spreading the mayo and loading it with turkey, cheese and roast beef. These are estimates of meat because I have brothers and a husband so I load the sandwiches. You might not need that much.
Ok, get your sandwiches made and heat the oven to 350.
For the “special sauce”
-1 stick salted butter melted
-1 1/2 TBSP. poppy seed
-1 1/2 TBSP. mustard
-1 TBSP. minced onion
-1 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
Mix together and pour over sandwiches.
Let sauce sit until it sets a tiny bit.
Cover with foil and put in the oven for 15-17 minutes.
Seriously, EVERY time I make these everyone asks for the recipe.
I got it from a friend who used ham and swiss, but I’m a turkey lover so I switched it up a little bit.
Try it out! I’d love to know if do!
Secret sauce ingredients
Secret sauce ingredients
I usually put 8 rolls in 1 9×13 pan, and make 2 pans
Smells so good!
Setting for a few minutes
Dinner is served along with watermelon, blueberries, strawberries and a ridiculous variety of chips!
Don’t you love summer?!
*If you get flimsy or thin rolls, the sauce almost makes the sandwich soggy when it comes out of the oven. I’ve tried a few different brands and French’s holds up the best because the rolls are so thick*
