I have been looking for a cheap, big frame that I could experiment with and I found one at Goodwill for $4! Woo hoo! Being that this was my first time there, I was pretty excited!
I took it home, sanded it down and painted it black. I also crackle painted it with cream on top, but because I’m so indecisive and didn’t think it would look as good with what I had planned, I painted black again on top.
Skip this part if you have a silhouette or cricut. I got the idea to use carbon paper from Eat.Sleep.Create. and used the font Grenouille from dafont.com. I printed out what I wanted on carbon paper and yes…traced it onto burlap. I’m pretty sure there are easier ways to do this!
Tada…put the burlap in the frame, added a few green rosettes and we’re good to go!
Here are a few of our “Lucky” decorations for St Patrick’s Day! I’m proud to say I only had to pay for the frame {$4}, the green paint {.70}, and the fabric {$2 thanks to Joann’s coupons} so a $7 project with some leftovers!
