Here is my simple cake stand on the right.
The one on the left I found at Goodwill for $15, perfect condition, serious steal!!
What do you do when you are throwing a shower in a different state and can’t have tons of weird shaped objects in your trunk?!
Go to Goodwill, pick up some random plates that have some fun curvature to them {is that even a word?} and spray paint them. Then add that clear paint to seal it. I’m not sure what it’s called.
These plates were $1.99 a piece. I used 2.
Then I went to Pier 1 and found these beauties on clearance from $10.00 to $2.50 a piece and I had a coupon for $10.00 off a $10.00 or more purchase. Woo hoo, me the little deal finder!
They were the perfect color too!
It was perfect, they fit in my car in 1 small stack. When I got to Arizona, I just took off the lids and hot glued the plates to the top. I didn’t want anything permanent for storage purposes. I’m not a big fan of commitment. I like to be able to switch things around when they aren’t colors that I use often.
2 cake stands for less than $10 total, sounds good to me!
Here is my post on the whole shower and I will be back to share a few more tips!
