Girl Talk

Happy Friday everyone!
I’m linking up at Rags to Stitches today for some girl time.I was able to just let out a big sigh of relief typing that.
If you’ve read my blog recently, you know we were going to make a move, planned a move, and have now made the move.
I feel like the move controlled my life. I like to somewhat be in control of my life, or think I am.
I don’t love juggling the thoughts of a new school, new doctors, new friends, new house, new climate, new new new.
Funny that we move so often, but I’m still not used to it.
I just didn’t feel at peace and I felt really overwhelmed…
Until we got here.
If we were meeting up for some much needed girl time, I would tell you that while everything has been crazy getting unpacked and organized, family coming and going pretty often, all day school starting for brother, finding the new and getting going with it, I have tried to make more time to appreciate the every day. I love morning cuddles. The older 2 could be fighting and arguing over cartoons and the second I bring the baby out, smiles are ear to ear and loves are shared.
I would tell you that my family is my world. While I have been homesick without my parents near, I feel so grateful to have family close to where we live. They love our kids and our kids love them. It’s pretty awesome to have 3 college age nieces, a high school niece, and 2 sister in laws close. It makes my heart hurt just a little less for my mom.
I would ask my baby to dance for you and you would probably think it’s the funniest, but cutest thing. I don’t know where she picked it up, but we pretty much clap and freak out over anything she does. She also just started folding her arms for prayer and I realize she is quickly fading out of baby into toddler. I approach it with mixed emotions and though I’m excited for her to communicate more and be able to walk down our stairs without giving me a heart attack, I also love having baby to cuddle with.

I would tell you that I was blown away and a little humbled with a contest recently. I would probably even get emotional about it, yes a contest. Totally out of character for me, but I love the girl who was designing the dresses so I went for it and entered the girls. I just had to style the girls and take pictures for facebook and ask people to vote. I took pictures of the girls, had a friend whip up some darling headbands, and crossed my fingers. I go on social media, but facebook is where I’m the least active. I rarely post on my personal page and for some reason I sometimes feel more comfortable sharing my life with strangers who have become friends in the blogging world. I think my girls are absolutely beautiful, but what if people thought it was stupid that I put them in a contest? Or thought my pictures sucked? What if they saw coca cola in the pictures and thought, “what a great thing to be putting into your 1 and 3 year old daughters?” I should just call myself Self Conscious Jen. I think way too much into things. I sent a message and asked some friends to vote. Friends shared it for me over and over. I saw names on that list that I wouldn’t have believed if I hadn’t seen them myself. It would not have been the end of the world if my girls did not win, but I think I needed a boost of gratitude and that’s exactly what I got. Gratitude for friends near and far, ones that I speak with on a regular basis and ones that I speak with through “likes” on social media.
I would tell you that I spent 30 minutes at Hobby Lobby by myself this week and it was awesome.

I would tell you about the launch of my new design and about the wonderful ladies that worked on it, Rachel, put together the design and KC installed everything for me.
It feels like a new car. I’m nervous to put the miles on it! I just like to sit and look at it, while trying to learn how to use it.
Rachel is getting ready to launch her website and pretty much does it all!
KC is a genius when it comes to what you need behind the scenes. If you have any questions or are thinking about moving to WordPress, email her! Her blogger rates are different than the rates posted on her site.
Have a wonderful weekend!

xo,
Mrs. J
