Guest Post-Made by Munchie’s Mama!

Good morning! I’m super thrilled to have Summer here guest posting this morning! I found her after a comment she left and loved her blog right away! I have to admit I’m a little envious of her dancing talent, but I can live vicariously right?!
See what I’m posting about over at Made by Munchie’s Mama!

Hi there Delightful Deets readers!  I am so excited to be a guest of Mrs. J’s today.  Is she not she pretty awesome?
I first came across her blog while browsing a link party and was taken back by her uber-orgainzed link up buttons at the bottom of her post.  I had been struggling to get mine all neat and organized and here she was…an answer to my linky party prayers.
I came for the linky buttons and stayed for the outfit posts, refinished furniture, glorious party decor and all that her blog has to offer.

I just wanted to share a little about me and what’s been on my mind this week.  I am the Mama behind Made By Munchie’s Mama.  I have been married to my handsome high school sweetheart for 6 years and we have 2 adorable little men (Gavin a.k.a. Munchie: 2 years old and Dylan a.k.a. Dylie Bear: 5 months old).

I am obsessed with the men in my life and love nothing better than to spend quality time as a family.  My other passion in life is crafting.  It’s something my mother and I would do when I was growing up and she is ridiculously talented…I owe all my master crafter skills to her!

I love being a mom and it has changed my perspective on so many things in life.  Most of the stuff that I thought was important and obsession worthy before kids isn’t even on my radar anymore.  Now a days topics that I find myself obsessing about are: does that poop look normal for a toddler?, I wonder if I wear this again today will anyone smell the baby puke on it?, Am I making enough breast milk?, Did I get all my coupon inserts in my Sunday papers?, Am I ruining my child and have I scarred them for life…you know the usual.

Here is what has been on my mind lately…  Do you ever look at your child?  I mean really look at your child.  I find myself doing this more and more.I try to find a time each day to look at my children.I look at their faces and search them.I don’t always know what I am looking for, but I stare deeply.I look as long as I can hold their attention.I’m not talking about a staring contest, although I would be favored to win for sure!

It’s more of an observation. And if I am lucky, I will see itThis look that is hard to explain.Their face transforms into this familiar facethat I feel like I have known for eternity. It warms my soul and melts my heart. It’s my child, but he’s different in that momentIt’s almost like I’m looking at the person he will someday be.

It is a look that usually comes in laughterand only lasts a second, but it’s a second I will cherish. It’s moments like these that make all the tears (theirs and mine),the agony of pregnancy, the pains of labor, the hundreds of hours spent rocking them to sleep, the thousands of diaper changes, the countless sleepless nights,

the tantrums, the spit up,ALL OF IT!It’s just worth while. The second I see the look, nothing else matters. He is my child. He has given me a gift, the gift of being a mother. We were destined to be a familyand I can’t wait to do it all over again…someday.

Thanks so much for having me Mrs. J!!!  I am having a big ole’ giveaway as soon as I hit 200 Facebook fans so stop by and say hello!
