See what I’m posting about over at Made by Munchie’s Mama!
Hi there Delightful Deets readers! I am so excited to be a guest of Mrs. J’s today. Is she not she pretty awesome?
I am obsessed with the men in my life and love nothing better than to spend quality time as a family. My other passion in life is crafting. It’s something my mother and I would do when I was growing up and she is ridiculously talented…I owe all my master crafter skills to her!
Here is what has been on my mind lately… Do you ever look at your child? I mean really look at your child. I find myself doing this more and more.I try to find a time each day to look at my children.I look at their faces and search them.I don’t always know what I am looking for, but I stare deeply.I look as long as I can hold their attention.I’m not talking about a staring contest, although I would be favored to win for sure!
It’s more of an observation. And if I am lucky, I will see it…This look that is hard to explain.Their face transforms into this familiar facethat I feel like I have known for eternity. It warms my soul and melts my heart. It’s my child, but he’s different in that momentIt’s almost like I’m looking at the person he will someday be.
It is a look that usually comes in laughterand only lasts a second, but it’s a second I will cherish. It’s moments like these that make all the tears (theirs and mine),the agony of pregnancy, the pains of labor, the hundreds of hours spent rocking them to sleep, the thousands of diaper changes, the countless sleepless nights,
the tantrums, the spit up,ALL OF IT!It’s just worth while. The second I see the look, nothing else matters. He is my child. He has given me a gift, the gift of being a mother. We were destined to be a familyand I can’t wait to do it all over again…someday.
