What the doctor can’t see…

Last week I scheduled Cowboy J and Little Miss L’s 4 year and 15 month appointment.
I didn’t want to go, but I knew I couldn’t cancel for the 3rd time {the 1st 2 appointments they were sick for}
I had to wake them up at 8:30 for our 9:30 appointment.
I scrubbed and then double scrubbed their sweet bodies hoping they would keep the delicious smell of Johnson & Johnson all day.
Got them out and lotioned them up with Miss L needing some cortizone cream.
Dressed them in their Gap playday best with matching Converse for Cowboy and a sweet flower for Miss L.
Gave them as much TLC as I thought I could before they both got a large amount of shots.
Made sure I had a binky, interesting books, and a ton of snacks on hand.
Came to the realization that I would need to be on their beckon call for a few days to come.
Slipped the immunization forms into my bag and realized Cowboy has about 4 different cards from all the places we’ve lived and hoped someone would just compile them for me.
Oh, and I also got dressed up {out of my normal comfy pants and shirt-pj’s} and had just enough time to do my mascara.
Planned on being 10 minutes early for checkin, but was 10 minutes late and we only live a quarter of a mile away.
I’m laughing at myself on the way there knowing that the Doctor isn’t going to come in and say, “Wow, Mrs. J, great job! You got your 2 kids and yourself ready and out the door at 9:30 in the morning.”
Nor would he notice their sweet outfits, how well Cowboy is counting, saying his letters, and that he never stops talking.
His memory is insane and it always gets me in trouble.
He might not see Little Miss L at her true diva state with her little screams because she is trying so hard to communicate with the rest of us.
He would definitely miss her hearty giggle that only Cowboy can get her to do and since he was ignoring everyone, it was far from happening.
And he would for sure miss the moment I held my kids tighter than they were holding me while my eyes were watering as they got pricked over and over.
{I get my emotional~ness from my momma, but somehow it’s worse}
My doctor is fabulous though and he did mention Little Miss L is getting her molars, she can start easing up on the whole milk, and she’s petite. {I figured, thank you, and duh}
Cowboy was able to get a refill on his inhaler. {thank you}
Even though I left without an A+++ and everyone singing my motherly praises, I know that
no one can love my children like I can,
no one thinks they are funnier than I do,
no one thinks they are cuter than I do,
no one thinks their picky eating habits are as annoying as I do,
no one likes to cuddle them as much as I do,
no one can need their nap time as much as I do,
and no one loves seeing the world through their little eyes more than I do.
I think all momma’s are a bit biased 🙂
{Thanks Doctor for bringing me back to real life and the simple things that matter, but seriously next appointment I’m aiming for all sp’s~strong performer}
