Something to Look forward to

For the past 2 years, there hasn’t been a lot of wiveliness going on at my house. I have been buried deep in books, stressed beyond what I thought possible, had a few minor breakdowns, and have been running on little sleep. I majored in nursing and will be graduating this May!!! I am beyond excited and cannot wait to be done with school and live a normal life with my hubby…. this explains my posts or lack thereof.

Because of my schedule I have had little time to spend with my husband let alone develop or improve in any of my hobbies. But in May that will all change and I will be free to do whatever I want 4 days out of the week… (sigh).
Anyways, I have been married for a little over 3 years and have come a lonnggg way in the kitchen. Literally, I remember after a month of being married standing in the kitchen and asking Mr. H what he wanted for dinner, he replied “something with chicken.” My husband is very independent and cooked for himself all the time before we were married, so he was surprised by my response with “ok, how do I cook chicken?” Seriously, who can’t cook a chicken? Looking back I can’t believe how unprepared and naive I was. So a few months later I started watching the Food Network (a lot) and became a huge fan of Barefoot Contessa and Giada De Laurentiis. Watching them actually taught me a lot! I soon went from not knowing what to do with a raw chicken breast to being able to follow a recipe quite well to actually putting together our own meals without any reference or guide (nothing fancy, but it still felt like an accomplishment)! I began to enjoy cooking and loved trying new things out for Mr. H. He was definitely loving it too. But once I got into my nursing program I slipped back into my old ways and cooking became the last thing on my mind.
Well, I am about to get right back into it and where better to start than a little shopping trip to Williams Sonoma! One of my absolute favorite stores! I love to try different kitchen products. My favorite purchase so far has been their KitchenAid Blender.

Mr. H and I blend a lot of stuff. We love to make smoothies and have tried out many different blenders. None of them have been as good as this one. It blends ice really well which was one of the annoying aspects of the other blenders. We’ve had it for over two years and haven’t had a single problem with it!

Next on my wish list…

I have been eyeing this amazing Le Creuset cookware for quite some time. I haven’t decided on which color, but I’m leaning toward their cream colored set.

and am desperately in need of some of these

This purchase isn’t going to be made for quite some time, but right when it started selling at Williams Sonoma I knew I was going to need it

It is the Beaba Babycook Baby Food Maker. It steams, blends, warms, and defrosts all in one container. It looks so easy to use and would save a lot of time while providing your new little one with lots of fresh and healthy little meals. Williams Sonoma also carries a bunch of other fun products by the same company.

And with Spring just around the corner I think my door may need a new accessory like this one

It looks so fresh and clean. It is a little pricey at Williams Sonoma but I don’t think it looks like it’d be too difficult to re-create a similar one… a project I may need to start soon!

And of course something for Mr. H.

He loves stir fry and I love to make it. It is so easy and tastes great everytime. I also love Breville products. This particular wok is normally $160, but it’s on sale at Williams Sonoma right now for $129.95! A pretty good investment for yummy, healthy, and easy dinners that Mr. H loves. I usually just throw in some chicken, sesame oil, bell peppers, onions, and broccoli or carrots. Whatever I have on hand usually.

These will make my whole cooking experience more enjoyable and make the food taste better I’m sure 🙂
