Be a Statement Maker.
That was the theme was for the Cents of Style Alt Dinner on the opening night.
Everyone went home with an amazing box of goodies including a custom tee made for the event & it is now available online!
Not only is it available now, Cents of Style is hosting an awesome giveaway.
Sign up for their newsletter & you’ll be entered to win $500 PayPal cash.
For signing up & entering, you will automatically receive a coupon code for the Statement Maker shirt!
I get the best heads up on deals on some of my favorite products from them. It’s a newsletter that I actually look over.
I would love an extra $500 to get our family stocked up on summer treats!
I’ve always worn the darling tribe bracelets, love stacking them as high as I can, but I’ve been more conscientious the last couple of months as to which ones I’ve chosen to wear and the positive effect they’ve had on my mood.
The darling midi ring is also from Cents of Style
Unicorn Bracelet is from Shine Project
Back to being a Statement Maker.
I love people watching. I’m a thinker. I naturally think a lot about the people I surround myself with.
I pay attention to how they affect my day to day attitude.
After the dinner where Courtney talked about making a statement & then declaring your statement, I started thinking even more about the statement I make in life & the statement others I interact with make.
I have a friend who makes a statement by making people feel beautiful.
Some of you might know her as Classy Cozmetics.
Not only does she make a statement as a makeup artist, she helps others learn about the importance of saving money & not going into debt. She puts her family first & she openly shares her testimony & her love of God. You want to be around her because of how happy & hilarious she is. She is someone that I talk to multiple times a week because of the light she brings into my life.
There are people in my life who make a statement by always being willing to serve others & are the first to bring in a meal to someone who needs one, are kind enough to include my kids on park dates, drop flowers by on a whim, & plan exciting things for the neighborhood to do.
Some people make a statement by owning a business and putting their voice behind it. Some are kind, genuine people and that statement speaks volumes to me. Some are cheerleaders supporting me every step of the way. Some are creatives that help me see things in a whole different way than I would have seen them on my own. Some are doers and they take risks on the daily. Some are carefree and some are hilarious. Some are inspirational and I wonder if taking notes every time I talk to them would be ok.
Some people are artistic and take amazing pictures like Nina or awesome video like Jared & Ashley.
While paying closer attention, I realized that the people in my life make big statements, all of them, but the one that they all have in common is that they are good, positive, people that make me feel like a million bucks.
If I could be a statement maker, I know what I’d like that statement to be.
I’d want people to know that I genuinely care. Learning about people, meeting people, and hearing their stories is so fun to me.
I’d want whoever sat down with me to know that I think they’re awesome. That they are incredible to me because of how they handle their day to day, their struggles, their triumphs, their successes and their failures.
I’d want them to feel important enough to keep the good in their life & distance themselves from the not so good.
Life can be hard, but with people in it who will celebrate the good parts & cry with you during the bad ones is what makes it so much better.
This is a favorite quote of mine.
Go & love someone exactly as they are. And then watch how quickly they transform into the greatest, truest version of themselves. When one feels seen & appreciated in their own essence, one is instantly empowered. Wes Angelozzi
Love people for who they are. They will become even better than you could have imagined.
