After a few years of the kids being completely overwhelmed on christmas morning, Matt & I knew something had to change. And then, my friend Shel talked about how her & her husband gift to their kids. Brilliant idea..We’ve really enjoyed it and now I’m going to share it with you!
the 4 gifts
-something they want

-something they’ll wear
-something they’ll read
here’s how it works.. we get the kids each 1-3 things (depending on price) in each category. that way, they don’t end up with 4 gazillion new toys, half of which they’ll never even play with after christmas day! and, if they really need clothes, new shoes, etc.. it makes for a great excuse to give them that as one of their gifts.
here’s where the blog series comes in..
each thursday (chelsea, lots of other bloggers and me) will be posting gifts ideas for one of the above categories. i’ll be posting gifts for myself.. because my birthday is right before christmas and i always have such a tough time deciding what to put on my wish lists. chelsea will be posting differently each week.. either for her, her daughter, her boyfriend, etc! every blogger gets to choose who they’ll be posting gift ideas for.
our goal is for this to be a great way to gather some ideas for gifts this holiday season. i can’t wait to see everyone’s ideas and am so hopeful that we can all save some money this christmas and really stick to our budgets.

I’m kind of chuckling that I’m even listing the ring, but this is my wants list and isn’t it so pretty?!
The hubs never asks for anything, he’s so easy, but makes it so hard to guess sometimes!
