DIY Anthropologie Winter Wonderland Wreath

anthropologie-winter-wonderland-feather-wreathDid anyone go shopping during the weekend after Thanksgiving? We had family in town so my sister in law and I had lots of time to sneak away and we went to Anthropologie to see what the sale was like.
I kept noticing how whimsical and beautiful the decor was (isn’t it always?!) and a lot of the pieces for sale were made with feathers.diy-anthro-winter-feather-wreath

When I got home I browsed around their site for a wreath I saw and here it was, the Fallen Feathers Wreath.
And it is $138!
Even if I could afford it, I could never justify it.

I spent $61 at Michael’s and took $35 back, making this knock off a total of under $30!
That’s a number I can do!decorating-with-wood-stumps

I spray painted the white poinsettia leaves and the green leaves gold and copper. I also spray painted pine cones that I found in my backyard gold and copper. My husband was grateful that I didn’t buy the pine cones this time.

Once all the leaves were painted and dried, I hot glued them all around the wreath.
After your wreath is covered in gold leaves, glue the feathers on. Layer them on top of each other, underneath each other, and on top of the gold leaves.
And you’re done.
Once the paint is dried it’s a
30 minute project…tops!

I grabbed stumps from a neighbor, a vintage phone from etsy, and the glass jars are another project that I will be posting soon!
