A huge part of why I chose to throw Bailey’s 1st Birthday Party with a vintage pony theme was this horse below.
Santa brought me this pony one year when I was pretty little. I thought it was quite amazing because it had my first and middle initials on the side of it. I mean, how special was it that Santa knew my initials and had his little elves take the time to carve them in?! 😉
I’ve had this horse my entire life and while at my parents house my kids would always ride on it. I noticed she was getting old. Paint was fading from the sun and was chipping off.
I decided she needed a makeover and would get a special part in the party.
I hand sanded the parts where the paint was chipping and primed her really well before I covered her in gold.
She looked like a brand new carousel horse.
Luckily I didn’t have to pay to rent a carousel pony or buy something vintage. They were all so expensive. I looked just to see different colors and decided on gold.
This 1 year old loved her new pony.
The aqua dresser below was a $25 makeover.

Even though we were melting on a hot June day in California, this party was my favorite. We had so many friends and family there which made for such a special day.
