A few months ago, I was sitting with a dear friend of mine who had just had a new baby. She was having a hard time with anxiety. It was new to her. It was frustrating. It was scary. She hadn’t been here before. Her baby was such a good baby and the adjustment to 5 kids was going well, but she couldn’t shake the anxiety and fear that was taking over. I have struggled with anxiety on and off for a good part of the last 3 years (story for another post) and was trying to listen and help however I could. She looked at me with nervous eyes and said, “But you do this and this and that.” She started naming a few things and I immediately stopped her and started building her up with everything she was doing. She’s incredible and I couldn’t believe that she was thinking so highly of me. I don’t know how she was dealing so well with a few different situations in her life and I was so sad that she couldn’t see how well she was really doing.
We are all so different. We all have different strengths and different struggles. Some of us might keep a really clean house and some of us might cook 5 nights a week. Some of our friends might workout every morning of the week while some of our other friends might need an extra push to get up and out of bed in the morning. Some of us might have highly stressful office jobs. Some of us have callings in church, are constantly in the car driving kids from thing to thing, and volunteer at the school.
Admire someone else’s beauty without questioning your own.
This shirt was designed with you and every woman in mind. Just stop and love yourself for what you are amazing at. Are you amazing at baking? Shopping? Listening? Nurturing? Learning? Taking pictures? Cooking? Running? Sports? Throwing parties? Organizing? Multitasking? Reading? Singing? Dancing? Designing?
