I have 1 sister and 7 brothers. We are slightly outnumbered to say the least and we are as close as close can be. I cherish all the big and small moments where I get to play the big sister role. I had the chance to throw her not 1, but 2 baby showers recently. She’s been married for almost 7 years and I was just as excited as her husband was when they found out they were pregnant. Picture this: She’s trying to announce it to the whole family & her husband. It’s his birthday so he’s opening a present (positive pregnancy test), I’m taking pictures and when he pulled out that test, my world simply stopped. I was jumping, crying, screaming…my pictures were completely blurry and I missed most of the moment, but I will always remember it. My baby sister would be becoming a momma. She would finally get to have her own baby to love unconditionally. While she loves my babies like they are her own, I was thrilled for her to get to experience the lack of sleep, choosing a carseat, a stroller, binkies, cuddles, smiles, and everything that comes along with a baby.
I got to relax and host the baby showers.
I selfishly begged her to come to me for the first one. A good chunk of ours and her husband’s family live by me so it just made sense.
She & her husband love love love to travel. I decided to host an “enjoy the ride” shower.

We decided on navy blue, green, and white with pops of orange.
Kortney Dowell helped me with my vision and we were able to put together a plan. She’s an amazing event planner and most of our planning was done over text and phone calls, easy for me!
My sister in law made rolls and a delicious salad and implemented our colors, she’s so awesome!
Each setting had a macaron (from Dolce Bella by Erin-the best I’ve ever had), a small piece of pound cake with blueberries, clementine, and homemade whipped cream, and an Izze drink.

She opened all her presents here and I think it quickly became apparent that she really would need all those onesies.

Isn’t she so beautiful? You’d never know that she showed up 15 minutes late to her own party because her 1st flight was cancelled and she was stranded in Arizona for the night before she could board a different flight and head to Utah. My little girl was on cloud 9 as her “special helper” and sat with her to open presents.
This was an intimate shower, we had about 20 family and close friends attend so I didn’t need a ton of dessert. I set it all up on a little chest I had and put the party favors in a vintage scooter, from 3 Dotter’s Vintage.
Nicole from Bella Bakery made and sent these dipped Oreos from California. They were so good and everything she makes is spot on. I sent her a few pictures of what I had in mind, and they came out perfectly!
This lemon poppyseed cake was heavenly.
My good friend made these for the shower and I can’t believe how beautiful they turned out!
Everyone took home a citrus scrub and I will be posting the tutorial soon for that and these darling flowers!
