I am predictable.
I order “the usual” at every place we eat.
I walk into a store and whether it’s a clothing store, decor, or grocery store, I know exactly what I want.
I move towards it and usually don’t look at anything else.
I stick with colors and styles and tastes that I’m comfortable with.
On a recent trip to Target, kidless, I walked down every aisle.
Tried on things I would never think to try on.
I even found a couple things on clearance and bought them!
Not predictable at all…
A day look turned into a night look.
I don’t even know what this style is, but it cuts at my worst point, my hips.
So almost like a peplum type?
On top of that I put it with horizontal stripes for both outfits and I actually liked the look.
So if you are going to try something outside of your comfort zone, here are my tips.
1. Layer up. Since my hips aren’t flattering in a shirt like this, I threw a cardigan over it and problem solved.
This is an easy, comfortable outfit to play around with the kids all day in.

Shirt: Clearance at Target
Cardigan: Shop Ruche
Ankle Pants: Lauren Conrad for Kohls
Shoes: Oasap
Obsessed with my new necklace from Bip & Bop!
I love how my 3 sweet babes initials are engraved on it, Nicole was so sweet to work with!
Isn’t it just precious and simple?!
Sweater & Shirt: Clearance at Target
Pants: Lauren Conrad for Kohls
Shoes: Forever 21
Jewelry: Mix of Stella & Dot, World Market, Bip & Bop, & Jewelry Nut Auctions
Now to go out with the hubs and grab a quick bite, this outfit was a wildcard.
I love a flowy shirt under a fitted sweater.
So for tip 2. If you are going to wear horizontal stripes, pick fun colors that you love and that look good on you.
I like that these horizontal stripes are all different sizes.
Post baby or not, I have to be picky with my stripes.
Don’t these colors just shout spring?!
What do you think?
What styles are you hesitant to wear?

Great outfit and tips! I always try to incorporate lace, ruffles, florals (feminine things) into my wardrobe, but more often than not I feel like a little girl playing dress up. xolili
