Happy Friday! I wanted to share a quick roundup of some of my favorite unique holiday gift ideas from small shops. Scroll down for all my top picks! Whether it’s rubbing shoulders (pre covid ;)) at an event, sliding into their dm’s, or cheering them on by liking and…

How to Make a DIY Pumpkin Snack Board

How to Make a DIY Pumpkin Snack Board featured by Utah lifestyle blogger, By Jen Rose

My sister came into town recently & gave me this idea to do a white pumpkin snack board. I was so excited to do a pumpkin treat board that could work for Halloween & Thanksgiving. I’m not a huge Halloween fan (don’t hold it against me!), but I just couldn’t get it together with the typical Halloween colors. Hopefully this will give you some ideas…

Instagram post 17894016410547049 There couldn’t have been a more perfect audio for today. Happy Birthday to my sweet sister. I couldn’t imagine life without you and while I’ve always needed my hand held, these last 9 months without our dad would have been impossible without her. This road of trying to figure out ā€œnow what?ā€ is much more bearable with her driving it with me. She’s the one who walks out to her garden and picks an entire dinner, knows all The Office lines, is my on call nurse, loves a good party and a classic chick flick. She doesn’t take herself too seriously and is the most patient mother. I enjoy that she is so well researched on anything and everything having to do with health, loves being a bee mom, having the style of a coastal grandma, and introducing her very crunchy ways of living to us. There isn’t an aspect of my life that she hasn’t touched or inspired me to be better at. I hope your trip in Florida has been the dreamiest and can’t wait to see if your homemade sunscreen actually worked šŸ’™šŸ„°
Instagram post 17894444528530396 #ad Our 3 older kids are in the middle of tennis season & loving it! Their main request? Bring Nature Valleyā„¢ bars when I'm the mom in charge of snacks. It feels like a lot of our afternoons are spent by a court or on a field, running from school to practice, or to a game. I always have these on hand. Did you know that 1 in every 8 people face hunger, including nearly 12 million children? I hate to admit I had no idea the number was this staggering & heartbreaking. It touches every community and for the next couple of weeks, I will be stocking up on some of our family favorites on my trips to @walmart , where General Mills is donatingĀ to @feedingamerica . It is simple and small, but can make a difference.
For every participating General Mills product purchased at Walmart between 4/18/22 and 5/15/22, General Mills will donate $0.10 to Feeding AmericaĀ® - enough to help Feeding America secure 1 meal on behalf of its member food banks – up to a maximum total donation of $1,500,000 in conjunction with this program. See Walmart.com/FightHunger for more information. #fighthungersparkchange #fighthunger @nature_valley

Instagram post 17943826984931814 "Each of us will have our own Fridays—those days when the universe itself seems shattered and the shards of our world lie littered about us in pieces. We all will experience those broken times when it seems we can never be put together again. We will all have our Fridays. But I testify to you in the name of the One who conquered death—Sunday will come. In the darkness of our sorrow, Sunday will come. No matter our desperation, no matter our grief, Sunday will come. In this life or the next, Sunday will come."

Holding onto hope that our ā€œSundayā€ will come & I’ll get to squeeze his sweet face again.
Missing dad on our first Easter without him & holding onto the memories of the amazing Easter egg hunts at my parents house that he loved almost as much as he lived to celebrate his love for Christ.
Instagram post 17903600852517749 15 years ago, and some weeks (thanks to being sick), this boy came into the world and started me on my favorite adventure yet, motherhood. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing or how we were surviving, and can truthfully say the same is true 15 years later. You work hard, you play hard, and you really enjoy when your hard work pays off while dedicating yourself to try harder when you know there is room to do better. I feel like I’m raising my 15 year old dad from driving to tennis, golf, back to tennis & if there’s room, saving some time for skiing and basketball. Not only do I love you & believe in you times infinity, but I like you and can’t believe how cool of a person you are. I’m convinced everyday that you came the way you came & little of the person you are becoming has to do with our parenting. Thanks for reminding me when I have to sign up for tests, sports, for picking your battles wisely, and for saying thank you. Love you Joe Joe.
Instagram post 18197175805144042 If you’re prepping to host for the Super Bowl, March Madness, or having a group over just for fun, these sandwiches are awesome and easy to make for a crowd. They are frequently requested here!

Recipe (I make 2 9x13-sometimes more)
2 packages sandwich rolls
Mayo
3/4-1 lb turkey
1/2 lb roast beef
1/2 lb provolone
1 stick butter melted
1 Tbsp poppy seeds
1 Tbsp mustard
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp minced onion
Prepare sandwiches. Mix rest of ingredients together. Brush over sandwiches (use as much or as little as you want, I usually have some left over) Let butter set for a few minutes. Cover with foil. Bake 15 min at 350 degrees.
Instagram post 17996262457414146 X šŸ¤ X šŸ¤ One of 2 holidays during the year I try to do fancy hair & it’s the easiest hairstyle I know. No french braiding and very little time. Hope they let me do this for a handful of years to come!
Instagram post 18075011725294876 2021.
We spent the year smiling, crying, traveling, growing, celebrating, trying, loving, winning, discovering, fighting, praying, accomplishing, struggling, laughing, learning, working, playing, adjusting, pivoting, losing, dreaming, and most of all we continued showing up. In the hard, the unknown, the happy and the sad, we kept putting one foot in front of the other.

Happy New Year, hoping for a beautiful 2022. šŸ’™
Instagram post 17932644385892793 Those we have lost evoked in us feelings of love we didn’t know we were capable of. These permanent changes are their legacies, their gifts to us. Love leaves a legacy & I love the legacy he gifted us. Our first Christmas without him and the traditions are feeling raw & empty, while my heart is also feeling full & grateful to have what we have. The Christmas list of traditions could go on and on, but some of my favorites that he & my mom loved were his amazing eggnog, Christmas candy trains (they were way easier than gingerbread houses), Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story & most importantly to them, their love of the Savior all year long.
.
A handful of these moments are unedited and in funky lighting. At the time they didn’t get a second thought to be posted to a feed, and now as I scroll through, they are my treasures, my step by step to eggnog making, my memory of his simple steps, him pulling up his boots, his thoughtful tapping before he spoke & his quiet patience and admiration for our kids. Quite possibly one of the classiest & wisest men out there. ā¤ļøšŸŒ²
Instagram post 17928989710934587 May our hearts prepare Him room, our lives reflect His presence, our homes radiate His peace. ā¤ļø

We enjoyed a beautiful Christmas Sunday & we sure missed my dad today. He loved the festivities & celebrating the birth of Christ. Joe sported a couple of his holiday favorites, can you spot them? 🄰 Hopefully the suit will fit him next year. Thankful to my family for helping ease the sting that I knew I’d feel a little stronger today. Hope your weekend was beautiful and relaxing.
